DDS Calorimeter Systems are the most advanced automatic Bomb Calorimeter Systems available today. Digital Data Systems are the proud designers and manufacturers of the CAL2K and CAL3K Bomb Calorimeter Systems. DDS was established in 1972 by Klaus Ludwig. The original aim of establishing the company was to solve industrial and scientific problems using digital techniques.
CAL3K-A Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The CAL3K-A is the complement to the CAL3K-AP, but with external oxygen filling. This instrument was designed for harsh production environments where automatic filling is not desired. It is faster than the CAL3K-AP, but less automated. Like the CAL3K-AP, it uses a combination of isothermal and adiabatic calorimetry methods, although it still uses the dry method, i.e. it does not use water. The minimum determination time is reduced to 4 minutes.
CAL3K-AP Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The CAL3K-AP calorimeter uses a combination of the isothermal and adiabatic methods, although it still uses the dry method, i.e. no water is used. The minimum determination time is up to 5-7 minutes. An external oxygen filling station is not required, as the vessel is automatically filled with oxygen inside the bomb calorimeter and the pressure is controlled. The CAL3K-AP minimum system comes complete with the calorimeter, two 4K-4 screw-type bomb vessels and an air chiller.

CAL3K-F Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The basic system containing the calorimeter, a pump vessel, an air chiller, and an oxygen filling station can complete up to 4 samples per hour. The basic system can be expanded to 2 vessels as your budget increases. This expanded system can complete up to 6 samples per hour. As your CAL3K_F system grows, use the external oxygen filling station (3K-3) and chiller (3K-2).
CAL3K-S Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The CAL3K-S bomb calorimeter is a powerful entry-level system for low throughput without compromising accuracy and repeatability. The CAL3K-S calorimeter has a compact size, low power consumption, and boasts a large list of features at an unbeatable price. The CAL3K-S system includes a calorimeter, a standard screw-type bomb vessel with enhanced CPU, and an oxygen filling station. A second bomb vessel can be purchased as a spare, however this will not increase the speed of the calorimeter system.
CAL3K-ST Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The CAL3K-ST bomb calorimeter is a powerful entry-level system for low to mid-range performance without compromising accuracy and repeatability. The CAL3K-ST calorimeter is compact in size, low in power consumption, and boasts a large list of features at an unbeatable price. What makes the CAL3K-ST unique is its ability to utilize the older CAL2K bombs as well as the new CAL3K bayonet and screw-type bomb vessels. Unlike the CAL3K-S calorimeter, the CAL3K-ST is a two-pump system.
CAL4K-4 BOMB VESSEL
It is compatible with all 3K-4 and 3K-5 pump vessels, but is a bit smarter. It has a new screw-locking mechanism for easy closure and sealing, and has temperature sensors and smart electronics sealed into the base and walls. The vessel is completely disassembled for easy sample management, cooling, cleaning and maintenance. The vessel body is stainless steel (316 for halogen on request) and a pressed aluminum sleeve acts as a heat sink and temperature equalizer.
CAL3K Air Cooler
The new air chiller replaces the traditional, expensive water chiller used with the CAL3K calorimeter range. It uses fewer resources, including no water and less electricity, to operate. The air chiller is powered by ambient air to cool the vessel, leaving it ready for the next determination. Best of all, the air chiller is extremely fast, affordable and efficient. This is made possible by the CAL3K vessel, with linear temperature sensing, which allows for higher temperatures in the vessel.
CAL3K Filling Station
The manual oxygen filling station is completely manufactured in-house, which saves costs and reduces the final price. It is lightweight, making it much easier to transport from one location to another if necessary. It is much easier to handle and safer (user-friendly). Being made from different materials than previously used, it is more environmentally friendly (green). The manual filling station brings a new look to the CAL3K-A, CAL3K-S and CAL3K-F oxygen bomb calorimeter systems.
CAL2K Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
The CAL2K is easy to use and has special features that put it in a league of its own. Accuracy is ensured with microprocessors using self-correcting processes, exceeding the standard requirements of DIN, ASTM and ISO. Its ability to interface with a personal computer, ensures preferred results with display, data printouts and connectivity via a network. The CAL2K has been designed for the high volume market and is best suited for customers processing 10 or more CV samples per day.

E2K Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System
Digital Data Systems has upgraded the E2K bomb calorimeter system. The system now has full menu control. The system can be fully operated without a PC and results can be printed directly to an RS232 printer. The PC and software are optional, however the system is now fully operational without software. All menu functions can be performed via the calorimeter. We call the new improved version – Version 2.

The ECO Bomb Calorimeter is the most affordable of the DDS Scientific product range. The ECO Bomb Calorimeter is the most affordable of the DDS Scientific product range. The ECO is the most compact and cost effective of all the models available. The ECO can perform a determination in one hour. It has been designed with the academic user in mind. It is ideal for the low volume sample requirements typically found in educational institutions.
